Philosophy
The program at Kids' Korner Early Learning and Out of School Care
Centre strives to develop the whole child: emotionally, intellectually,
physically and socially. Through play, children learn about themselves,
the world and its wonders and their place in that world. Team oriented
staff members create an environment that challenges and stimulates
each child to the best of their abilities, all the while ensuring
the children’s safety.
Weekly and monthly programming not only supplements what the children learn outside the centre, but introduces them to new things. Much of the programming is multi-cultural based, launching the children into the multi-cultural world in which they live. We strive to promote understanding and interest in other cultures, leading to favorable acceptance and recognition of those cultures. As such, parental involvement and input is encouraged. Their help as volunteers is always welcome.
Kids' Korner Early Learning and Out of School Care Centre endeavours to develop the full potential of each child's personality, mind and body. The children develop attitudes and understanding that will assist them outside the centre and in years to come. It is also our goal to encourage children to socialize, cooperate, and share with others, enjoying the company of others.
Knowledge and curiosity are developed through language stimulation, art, music and science activities and by way of challenge---simple problem solving through play often arises. Creative and constructive activities are provided both in free and guided play.
Our care does not end with the children, however. The health and well-being of a child does not halt as they walk out the door at the end of each day---it is also dependent upon the health and well-being of their home and family life. We aim to form a relationship with each child and his family Through consistent verbal and written communication. Resources over and above the typical daycare resources are provided to parents so as to sponsor, encourage and broaden their child-rearing practices at home.
We are very proud to be a government accredited
centre.
